DAY 1: JEDDAH (ARRIVAL)
Arrival at JEDDAH International airport, after formalities, you will be able to direct yourself to the Car rental area at the BUDGET car rental counter, or just pick up your car in BUDGET downtown JEDDAH. After the car formalities are done, you will receive the keys, and you will be ready to discover the region. Drive to your hotel. Check-in at hotel. Overnight in JEDDAH.
DAY 2: JEDDAH (B)
Breakfast at your hotel. Today you can visit the city of Jeddah that from the 7th century CE was established as a major port for Indian Ocean trade routes, channeling goods to Mecca. It was also the gateway for Muslim pilgrims to Mecca who arrived by sea. Start your tour with the visit of Abdul Raouf Khalil Museum that showcases local and Arabian heritage. Visit the Old Jeddah called Al-Balad which was listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. This walk tour of the old Town will take you along the narrow streets whose shade is provided by elegant tower houses made with coral stone and decorated by large exterior wooden structures called Roshan. Most of these houses were built in the late 19th century but some of them are more than 400 years old. Their visit the Bait Nassif, one of the prominent renovated houses of the old city which dates back to the mid 1800’s, the Old Market and the old Mosque. End your tour driving towards the Jeddah Corniche which is the 30 km coastal resort area of the city of Jeddah. Pass by the Al Rahmah Mosque also known as the Floating mosque since it is built on piles above the water. Located along the Red Sea, the corniche features a coastal road, recreation areas, pavilions and large-scale civic sculptures as well as King Fahd’s Fountain, the highest fountain in the world. Overnight in Jeddah.
DAY 3: JEDDAH – AL HADA – TAIF (360 km) (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. We suggest you today to drive up the Sarawat Mountains Range that spread all along the western side of the Arabian Peninsula from Yemen until Jordan. Once you have passed the crest peaking at nearly 2000 meters high you will drive down the eastern side to the city of Taif. This city, thanks to its location above 1600 meters benefits from cooler weather, especially in summer when you will travel there for its green nature and its pleasant atmosphere. Start with a drive enjoying the majestic panoramic view of Al Hada mountain. In the afternoon, visit a place unique to Taif that is a Rose factory where people of Taif gather the local roses to make one of the best rose perfumes in the world. Finish the tour with the Sharif Museum then return to the city of Jeddah to the airport, or arrival go to the car rental RETURN parking, handover your car to the BUDGET team, and direct yourself to the departure area.
